At Pegasus Haven, we believe in creating a nurturing environment that fosters growth and development in our tamariki. Our learning priorities are weaved throughout our philosophy and align to the values which are most important to all who are part of the whanau at Pegasus Haven. These include aroha (love), manaakitanga (kindness), whanaungatanga (relationships) and kaitiakitanga (guardianship of our environment).
Aroha is central to our approach. We strive to create a warm and whakamana (empowering) atmosphere where every tamariki feels valued and cared for.
We prioritize teaching and modeling manaakitanga, empathy, and whakaute (respect) to promote positive social interactions among our tamariki and kaiako (teachers).
We emphasize building strong whanaunga (relationships) among tamariki, kaiako, whanau (families), and the wider hapori (community) to support each child’s social and emotional development.
Our kohanga (centre) provides a safe, stimulating, and inviting space that encourages tamariki to explore and learn through play.
Through these values, we aim to provide a holistic and enriching experience that nurtures the wairua (spirit), tinana (body), and hinengaro (mind) of every tamariki in our care.
Nau te rourou, naku te rourou, ka ora ai te iwi.
